Last Friday, I presented my original work at the research showcase @UNT. It was an amazing night and I am so grateful of the wonderful opportunities ISM has and will continue to provide me.
At the start of the night, my mentor and his wife came. It was the first time he saw my display board and he was impressed. We talked briefly about my topic, but more so, we talked about various personal life topics. For example, I found out his son used to rock climb. Then, my mentor met my teacher, Mr. Green, as well as my parents. Everyone seemed to get along and it was an enjoyable night.
My display board was situated by the door, so I talked to a lot of people - parents, curious students, teachers. It was a rewarding experience getting to share all what I have accomplished the first semester. I was surprised by the amount of questions I was asked. People seemed genuinely interested in my topic.
This third nine weeks is quickly coming to an end and I am proud of my work so far. I am excited to continue my final product and to present at the final showcase at the end of the year.
