This past week, I had another mentor meeting in which a potential client came into the office for a medical malpractice intake. During the hour long meeting, I took notes and listened attentively to her story.
Her ex-husband went into cardiac arrest after being given an epidural shot for his back pain at a pain clinic. It took the ambulance 30 minutes to arrive to administer epinephrine. She feels that her husband wrongfully died due to the delay of the ambulance arriving. The interesting part of this case was that she is not the one filing the suit since she is the ex-wife, her kids are. There are two 18 year old twins and a younger 13 year old boy. My mentor is still unsure on whether or not he will take the case.
After the intake, my mentor invited me to lunch with him, his wife, and his assistant. It was really nice and I felt very grateful to have such a close relationship with my mentor. In total between the time at his office and lunch, the visit was three hours, our longest one yet.
This next week, I will finish two more pamphlets as well as create the first video for my mentors Tiktok/Instagram.
