It has been over a month since my last blog entry and there are so many updates! First, my Original Work website is complete. It was a huge success and reward to finish this project. Over winter break, I began brainstorming ideas for my Final Product. But mostly, I took the two weeks to relax and prepare for the second semester of Junior year, easily one of the most daunting semesters of High School.

Coming back from a well-needed break, I had my first mentor visit with Mr. Underwood. It went great! He is a very quotable person, telling me as soon as I walked into his office to write three tasks I wanted to accomplish that day on his whiteboard because "if you can't think of three things you want to accomplish in a day, then don't get out of bed."

I wrote down that I wanted to discuss the ISM Mentor Handbook, present my Original Work, and brainstorm Final Product ideas. After completing the first two tasks (and crossing them off the whiteboard), we spent the next hour bouncing ideas off each other for my Final Product. He gave many great suggestions, but we did not come to a decision/conclusion that meeting. This week I am tasked with deciding on my Final Product idea as well as drafting a rough timeline of completing it.

Overall, the first semester of this school year has been successful and I am immensely grateful to start this new semester (and year!) with an amazing mentor, teacher, and classmates.
