New Quarter, Fresh Pursuits

Last week marked the end of the first quarter of the school year. That means it was time to set new goals for the upcoming couple of months and begin the search for a mentor. Two main goals I made for myself this semester are to find a suitable mentor and curate a well-polished original work.

Throughout this past week, I started reaching out to medical malpractice attorneys by connecting with them on LinkedIn as well as emailing them directly. So far, three attorneys have answered and I have one interview in place for next week. I realized that connecting with people on LinkedIn will only get me so far, so I wrote a cold call script yesterday for calls I am preparing myself to make later this week. Alongside this, I also learned the necessity of adequate organization techniques. At first, I reached out to lawyers without keeping a note of it and I quickly became confused on who I already emailed. I created a correspondence log soon after and that helped me keep track of my contacts.

Overall, I am excited to work towards the goals I set for myself this upcoming quarter and I am looking forward to setting up more research interviews in these next couple of weeks.
