This past week, I decided on an idea for my final product as well as gave a  speech about my original work.

My speech was this past Wednesday during class. I was so excited to share my original work product to my fellow ISM peers. I began my speech by walking through all the research I have accumulated this year from articles and my interviews. This included the four elements of medical malpractice as well as situations that fall (and don't fall) under medical malpractice. I then transitioned into detailing the upbringing of tort reform, introduced four tort reform solutions, and the two different perspectives. To conclude my speech, I presented the class my original work by walking through the "patient" player.

I also decided on a final product this past week. I am going to create "how to" guides revolving around medical malpractice in hopes to inform the general public about this relatively unknown topic.

Here are some ideas for guides:

How to Identify Signs of Medical Malpractice

How to Avoid Medical Malpractice

How to Understand Medical Negligence Laws

I have another mentor meeting tomorrow where I will ask for his suggestions for guides and we will also choose which guides I want to include in my final product. I have not decided how I want to present these guides - as a book or individually - so that will also be discussed during my meeting tomorrow.

Overall, this was a successful and exciting week in ISM!
