From Idea to Action

I am very excited to have decided on my original work product this week. I plan to develop a well-constructed website that walks a ‘player’ through a hypothetical medical malpractice court case that implements proposed tort reform solutions from a doctor, client, and attorneys perspective. The six tort reform solutions are as follows: cap on noneconomic damages, cap on punitive damages, limiting joint and several liability, abolishing the collateral source rule, limiting lawyers contingency fees, and creating a federal statute of limitations. This week I will begin researching the pros and cons of these six solutions.

On a different note, I scheduled another research interview coming up in the next couple of weeks. I hope to ask this attorney his perspective about medical malpractice tort reform; therefore, I need to create a list of questions and topics to discuss.

Overall, this week was productive and successful as I both wrote my proposal for my original work as well as scheduled another research interview. For next week, I hope to conduct an in-depth search into the six malpractice reform solutions I will incorporate into my website. I also plan on brainstorming ideas for the hypothetical medical malpractice case I need to construe.
