Breaking Ground

It is currently Cyber Monday, the first day back to class after a much needed fall break. During the time off, I started my Original Work. I am creating an interactive website that moves a "player" through a hypothetical medical malpractice case with implemented tort reform solutions.

To tackle this large task, I first compiled all pertinent information/facts from my four interviews onto a single document. I also added additional information from my previous research assessments. This helped me organize my current knowledge into a cohesive space.

Then, I began brainstorming a hypothetical case for my website. I quickly realized that it needed to overlap all six types of reform I am focusing on, which was a little tricky to figure out at first. However, I eventually formulated a realistic medical malpractice case that I could effectively show the effect of reform on.

After I had a rough idea of the case, I began writing a draft format of the website. This included the different "characters," (patient, doctor(s), insurance company) and the general flow of the website.

Overall, the time I spent this past week allowed me to curate a baseline for my original work. This week, I will work on introducing the different sides to the case and each sides perspective on tort reform.
